Thanks for the reply. I bought the speakers for cheap on ubid.com a few years back and they have been in storage ever since. I got three pairs of very good speakers for less than the price of one pair of similar new speakers.I received the speaker brackets over the weekend and mounted them on the wall yesterday. They sound better than expected, though not as good as when they had 2 ft. behind them to breath (bass is lacking). I may consider plugging the ports to see if it makes the sound better or worse (probably). I'm glad I went with this option b/c they look better on the wall, and the brackets put them where they should be for a 5.1 system. I'm willing to live with less bass due to having a sub. Thanks again for your input.
