HDCP/HDMI/burned discs

Players that have an HDMI connection, if you use it, will apply HDCP only on the digital (HDMI) output. This means that the display on the receiving end will have to be HDCP compliant (able to decrypt the HDCP signal).

As for the capability to play a burned disc, neither HDMI nor HDCP have any bearing on this capability. It depends on whether or not the manufacturer has incorporated this capability into the player in question.
