I bought a 60" Sony kdf60wf655 that was assembled in april 2005 according to the build sticker on the back. The XBR if I am not mistaken just means you get "more audio." I use mine with these jbl 4675cspeakers below and my vacuum tube stereo. I did not think the extra bucks for the built in 30 watt stereo was worth it at all. The image is stunning on my 60" Sony Grand Wega. The price was also not stunning as I paid $2327.77 for it brand new, plus $150 shipping on July 6th 2005. BB, CC, and Sears were all selling the same set for around 3,599 to $3,699. There must be a 40% mark up on these sets easy. Good luck on your search, Further down I posted a reply with many links for a first time buyer. Shop around and get the best price. This way you can use part of your savings for a ISF calibration. If you buy it with a American Express CC they double the standard factory warranty from one to two years. This was verified from AmEx the day I bought the Sony. Also do not forget to buy a 300 watt UPS to help save the bulbs if you lose power. The UPS will ensure the fan works to cool it off if the power fails. John
