The only drawbacks I can see to Plasma is its somewhat higher power consumption and susceptibility to screen etching.Since I've never etched the screen of any CRT TV that I've had, I don't think that screen etching, for me at least, is a major consideration.
The disadvantage of better LCD and DLP sets seems to be projection lamp life; most are rated at around 4,000Hrs.
Since most Plasmas are rated at around 60,000 hrs, it seems to me that difference in replacment lamp cost alone would more than pay for the Plasma TV.
I've pretty much made up my mind to go with Plasma. The Vizio P42 can be had for around $1400 samolians and the picture looks great to me.
Opinions?
