This is room dependent of course but mine is set 8db lower. It took me six months before I was satisfied. What I did was use endless loops of familar (i.e., non-explosive) sounds, like a car going over a small bridge, the sound of "space" in a symphony hall. the sound of a string bass in an acoustic setting, ets. When you get the 60-80 hz region right the real bottom should snap into place. Many of my listeners comment on the accuracy and naturalness of the bass and, yes, i can shake the rafters as well. And I am using a difficult combination, Magnepan 1.6 mains and a powered box subwoofer set at 40 hz..
