Re: HT Speakers, will they be adequate?

Thanks, rico,

I reset levels using Proceed's internal white noise generator, and had to raise the sub level substantially when I changed from 80 Hz to 40 Hz crossover to reach 0 re 80 dB SPL. A local audio expert who stopped by to listen thought the system sounded very good but that it was a shame not to let the KEF 104/2s handle the 80 - 40 range, given their reputation for tight well controlled bass. So I set my front LR speakers to large. The sub is a Velodyne HGS-15.

When I played a Reference HDCD recording of the Firebird, there seemed a bit too much LF, even though it was well controlled. The Proceed remote can boost or attenuate the sub (as well as center and rears) while you're listening. I'll try 8 dB attenuation as a starter.
