capable of 1080p60 and 1080p24

With the latest firmware (1.82), the PS3 will output 108024p unless the display is not capable (it will switch to 1080p60). The 24p setting can be set to automatic (the default setting, it will check for 24p capability) or off (user selected no 24p output, regardless of display capability).

Obviously this doesn't apply to any output resolution other than 1080p.
