Yes, but not out of any empathy with HD-DVD owners. It's all about what the customer will buy in the future.

Paramount does NOT want to lose potential customers for the second and third seasons of the Original series by switching format horses in mid stream. That would not only screw over those who purchased the first season at a premium price with the promise of future seasons in HD, but it would probably limit the interest in Blu-ray only versions even if they reissued the first season in Blu-ray.

Keep in mind that the 1st season of the original series sold quite well on HD. Food for thought.
