They sold between 50K and 100K in a weekend, that's no small feat. That shows there IS demand, if the price is right. It also shows that it can compete with DVD players.

I don't see why not, the A3s are supposedly cheaper to make than the A2s. Note that BB dropped the price of the A3 (but doesn't have them in stock). I fully expect the A3 to sell for <$200 this holiday season. That's been the goal all along. Hell, they only list for $300. You are just used to BD's excessive prices.
