a Sony 7700, which will output a two channel analog signal, but the two channels it outputs are the 5.1 left and right: it doesn't downmix the center channel into the analog left and right outputs.That said, the left and right analog outs sound wonderful on CD music and pre-surround movies, but lousy on recent movies where much of the dialog is encoded in the center channel.
The sony does have optical/digital outs and other fancy stuff, but I need an outboard processor/reciever to make use of them. I was thinking of buying a processor like MSB's digital decoder that handles the downmixing. My amp is a Jolida, so it has no digital processing, and I have no desire to replace it.
