Does any BD player upscale 480p BD content?

Anybody who reads around a lot know? This is one of those details you can't find much about, just like you can't find details in manuals about what gear *can't* do without a lot of fuss. Or is upscaling BD content one of those things "not allowed" by the BDA?

Of course I'm asking because there's still a lot of 480p extras content on BDs, ported from the DVD probably. Also it enables them to jam more stuff onto the BD instead of going to 2 discs. And even mediocre players upscale DVDs better than most displays do i.e. my Oppo and PS3 are not that good at upscaling DVD as current players go, but far surpass my Pio 151's upscaling ability.
