Nexflix has the vision to see the future. It is Streaming and Downloading, not hard media.
The great expense to Netflix is 2-way postage and duplicating millions of DVDs for their depots all over the USA. I've never understood how they do for the price.
Streaming is MUCH cheaper. If anything streaming is subsidizing Nexflix's DVDs by mail service. Nexflix see the "handwriting-on-the-wall."
Netflix now represents itself as primarily a streaming service, . . ., with DVDs by mail (for a while!) If you ask them (I have) they'll tell you that 2011 is dedicated to improving the Streaming service with more films and more Streaming source locations.
If you love Netflix as I do, you'd better gear-up for Streaming (and upgrade your Internet service if you want HD. I have and I love it.
