RE: BDP-83 and "Foreign" DVDs

I've got the hardware hack for the BDP-83. This does imported DVDs and BDs. I've had several power outages which would be the equivalent of unplugging without any problems. That said, I have a couple of import DVDs where the subtitles are below the picture, to the point where I have to shrink the picture to 1/2 size just to read them. Quite annoying. I'm not sure if its the player or the discs, since it is only a couple DVDs out of hundreds of imported discs.
