I do not know the latest projectors (8350 is 2 years old), but Jamestown screens are still excellent for the money if you do not mind a bit of work assembling it.
Home theatre with fixed screen is different than TV. The picture is more natural. I do not like surround sound. People complain about sound of opera on surround systems (for example Blu-ray I Puritani/Metropolitan) - on my high resolution stereo it sounds very good.
If you hang projector from the ceiling do not buy a noisy projector. Make sure the screen is a right size for your watching distance.
