I know you want to spend a little less but I have had such good lick with my Oppo I would suggest you try to spring for the extra bucks and buy the Oppo. The upconversion on my DV-980H looks great and kept me from buying a Blu-Ray for a couple of years before I final broke down and bought one for Avitar (WOW, what a picture!...even if the story sort of sucks). Oppo seems to have found the 'Magic Button' when it comes to great players at affordable pricing.
