The repair estimate is $3K, so Sony doesn't want that.
They want to sell me a replacement for $900.
I got a top of the line Sony TV and the thing goes out of warranty and
dies a few months later. And they basically want another grand (taxes, etc).
The repair shop that did the estimate is going to talk to the New England Sony guy. I've been talking to people in India, and their English is not good.
In case you think I am nuts, google the Sony TV recall. My repair guy says they do a lot of Sonys.
