HD TVs fail, in they're going to, in the warranty period. Buy with American Express and the base warranty period is doubled (or used to be, don't know for sure if they still do that). But that's yer friend's call of course.

As for definitely buying a plasma, if it's going to be in a brightly lit room, bad idea. Reflections are a bugger with plasma sets. We have one of each. The plasma is in the media room. the brightly lit living room has an LCD.
