A few months ago my Denon AVR2312 Cie receiver began dropping out the audio or, on occasion, both the audio and the video. There is no pattern, sometimes two or three times in a five hour period, sometimes not for days, sometimes upon initial start up of the system. Booting the receiver one or multiple times will (has) restored operations. The receiver is three years old and there is no problem in connections or set-up. No heating, odors, smoke, blown fuses, or unusual sounds occur. I'm understandably reluctant to purchase a new receiver, however, as I peruse through peoples comments concerning various brands of receivers it appears to be almost a common defect related to HDMI "handshake" problems. This was insinuated to me on the Denon "Tech Help" line,
What's up with this? Does this only affect Denon/Marantz brands or is this a universal problem connected to HDMI circuitry?
