I concur with others that you do not need (nor should you at this time) spend $1000.
How about a $300 Sony Playstation 2 (obviousl adds more perks than a normal DVD player)
or else a cheaper Toshiba or PAnasonic. Or one ofthe4 mega DVD changes can be found for $400-$600, which might save you trips to the entertainment centerdg
