Re: Should a subwoofer be on a stand?

nope. subs need the reinforcement of the room, some to greater/lesser degree. best place for single sub is rear right corner, on spikes. coupling will tighten and deepen bass and help attenuate resonances in room and sub. adjust crossover and level with ratshack anolog meter and aria or video essentials disk and then tweak to personal preference by ear. widescreen review just did a pretty exhaustive testing of subs and give plenty of tips for best performance. don't skimp on cable, try a neutral one like AQ or StraightWire. don't need high end, but cheap monster will rob you of performance.
