If you were running cable TV over 50 feet, coax is fine in that length. But if you are running 50 feet of S-Video or component cable from a DVD player or processor/switcher to a video display, you MUST use an amplified video cable... those devices do not output a strong enough signal to survive that long of a run. The Camelot powered video cables seem to perform better than cheaper versions, yet aren't terribly expensive. I don't see a Camelot web site, but Audio Advisor appears to carry some Camelot products, not sure if they have the powered video cables or not.
