I'm using a computer based DVD drive to play region 2 movies. Using the feature to force PAL to NTSC in the software I'm playing PAL release material. My problem is that the picture pauses every second for a nanosecond. I really only notice the problem when credits are rolling or there is a long pan. The Dolby digital output doesn't pause - seems to be fine. If I play domestic DVDs the pauses do not exist. If anyone has any idea why this is occurring I'd appreciate the help! Also below I have outlined some other questions.
Is the Creative Labs DXR3 decoder card a hardware or software based decoder? (Assume hardware)
Are PAL DVDs actually encoded in PAL or is the DVD voc format the same regardless of the playback media.
Does anyone else watch PAL DVDs on a NTSC TV? I'd like to know the best hardware/software configuration.
Is there a more technical video forum on the Internet that is updated often?
Thanks
