Now it's getting interesting. The tape you recorded on that VCR and played back on another system still has no red??? Hmmm, How do you record this??? From SCART of the TV??? The SCART is only connection here where RGB goes separate. So if you record from VCR's tuner or RCA A/V this is not possible. I refuse to believe it. Video signal on tape is not RGB separated. Only way that I see this could happen is if SCART loses red and you record on VCR from the SCART.

You say you tried VCR on some other TV and it's fine. How does it play tapes from other VCR's? Did you use same SCART cable at dealer's place? Maybe cable interrupts only sometimes.

Can you make more clear how all this is connected?
