Audioman, the 9000 es is the best deal at list in gear i have bought and you can buy them new for 1075.00.The cd section really does take 400 hours to come to life, but out of the box it will beat most 1000.00 cdp.The sacd playback is on par with 4500-5000.00 cdp,and in this months widescreen reveiw, they say it betters the wadia 860 in all but bass, while in the sacd mode.I don't even have a progressive ready tv,but the picture is better than the 7000,which was better than the 7700,and the sound is much more detailed and smoother on dd/dts.The gear iv,e used this player with is a b&k 202 receiver, two subs and five kit speakers that consist of revelator tweeters and scan speak 1845 woofers.I also have used this player with my thiel 3.6's and electrocompaniet gear.I would say this player is worth more than list for sacd, street price or better for cd,after 400 hours, and worth list for dvd playback. I don't think anyone who wants an all in one could do better and the audio/video rags agree.
