Okay, we'll all have to laugh a bit because I've only had my 9000ES for three days, but it is a far cry from any CD player I've had in my home....and it's not broken in yet. There's something just right about it, and you'd probably have to hear it in your own system to figure it out. I try really hard to audition each piece of gear with my system to make sure the synergy is there. Since I bought this from Oade, I didn't get that chance, but I can pretty much say this was a no brainer. Excellent sound, excellent video, and SACD to boot. Now we all know most testing tells us that there is alot of sprious noise inside a DVD player, and lots of jitter too. With this unit, you can use the audio outputs for CD and SACD, and shut off the digital and video portions of the circuitry. This is a nice touch, and I think it's the designers way of saying, "yes, use this as an SACD player, too."
I think this is an excellent unit, and I'm already looking forward to tomorrow night when I can spend mroe time with it and re-listen to my cd collection. If you are replacing an older CD unit, you will be pleasantly surprised at the sound. It really is that good.
Do it!!!!!!!
