If your speakers are relatively insensitive (86 or below) or a 6ohm load/impedance, it would make sense that your Yamaha is shutting down to protect itself. The other possibility is that your receiver cannot really put out 5x 80w with all channels being driven at the same time.
If the yamaha has pre-outs, you could buy a cheap five channel amp which would yield better results.Good luck, Michael
