I just got an RCA RC5210p DVD player & have an AIWA mini home theatre system. The DVD doesn't have the analog 5.1 outputs but does have an optical output. The AIWA accepts 5.1 inputs but not the optical. My question is since I want to slowly upgrade the sound system can I start with an AV receiver that accepts the optical input & then feed it from the receiver to the AIWA for full surround sound on movies??
Any help is appreciated!!
