Sadly this is more common than it should be.
Abe Lincoln said regarding all those wanting a share. "there aren't enough tits on the sow"
There are business's that depend on what the gov is willing to pay for things, that wouldn't exist if competing on a level playing field.
On one hand supporting things that grow the pie for all are good things, on the other hand far to often it turns out the ones they supported but failed at great taxpayer cost, often were such politically connected businesses that couldn't have existed otherwise and all the money gone..
