one might remember how that movie ended, with the cowboy plane commander riding the bomb down rodeo style, because he knew that was the ultimate wild ride because that bomb would trigger the end of life as we know it, because the war radiation would poison all the air and water plus kill all the plants and animals.
only the aggressively stupid would start a war where everyone looses, that's why mutually assured destruction is hoped to have a preventative effect against atomic war. and modern rocket attacks will have thousands of decoys among the weapons, assuring that any defense will be overwhelmed.
I live within fifty miles of a port and refineries, so wouldn't survive the first attack.
