I shop on Long Island, mostly...a Best Buy near me, has all the newer titles, of course, at a verrrry good price...sometimes you can find a few esoteric titles...foreign films...at good prices.Once at Kim's I picked up this very good digitally transferred VHS of the cult classic "Modesty Blaise" and The Beatles' "Let It Be" at one of their locations. Fantastic, overall, selection, for out of print items.
I'm going to check out that Video Outlet location this coming week ! Thanks for the tip!
I usually shop around alot and usually find some good bargains here and there. Depending on what you are looking for, you can find some good bargains. Therein lies most of the fun, I think.
HMV Herald Square used to be the best for NTSC DVD Japanese titles like the super rare "Concert For Bangla Desh" and David Bowie "Glass Spider Tour"...a couple of great NTSC VHS live titles by Three Dog Night and the Carpenters...some great VCD's of the Bee Gees "Live at Keppel Road", The Who, Bob Marley, and Pink Floyd "Pulse" and "Live at Pompei". Kind of pricey but like they say...if you see it, pick it up !!!!
Especially, I love the mispriced items, I come across!
Follow Ups:
I just realized that it's called Entertainment Outlet when I saw another one in SoHo this weekend!
I stop by Video Outlet after work if I just cannot wait. It's one of those "run down" looking stores that you find all around New York, not worth making a special trip if you've got access to Best Buy, etc., which already have good prices. But for me I'm willing walk the few blocks over from Virgin on Union Square to save a few dollars.
