I would tend to agree with your rating of three out of five stars. I thought it was relatively well produced for what it was, but I would have done it rather differently, with more camaraderie as was typical of the cartoon. My grades of the characters:Shaggy A Very good and quite faithful to the original
Scooby B Pretty good. I tend to look askance at digital characters, but I believe this was a good choice in this instance. Not nearly as good as the cartoon Scooby, but that exact character would have been out of place in a live action film.
Freddy C- Pretty close physically, but a radical departure from the cartoon character's leadership and personality. Not nearly as likable.
Daphne D+ Pretty much the same story as the Freddy character in terms of the physical resemblance and departure from the cartoon character's personality, but even more unlikable.
Velma A+ An awesome characterization that really brought the cartoon character to life. I can't imagine it have being done any better.
Others I won't go into any detail so as not to spoil some of the surprises, but there were probably more pluses than minuses.
