I saw this "anti-WW1" film about 30+ years ago in England back in 1969-70 when I did a year of study in the UK. It was Richard Attenborough's directorial debut & full of old British WW1 songs which I've never heard before or since. I've been trying now for years but I can't seem to find a source for the video (VHS or DVD). Does anyone have any recommendations?
Follow Ups:
1969 release, a Paramount picture (Web search) Won a Golden Globe award for "Best English Language Foreign Picture" Some very big guns in the cast.
The title is one of the songs. I've seen it, also Years ago, and would say that apart from the Soundtrack, which is eminently salvageable, the film itself will seem very jingoistic and dated in 2002 IMHO. The humor was thin then, it will be downright painful now.
Try: http://www.gemm.com and Ebay.
If you buy the video and ultimately decide to toss it, remember; "It's a long, long way to tip a Rarey"
