Just saw the movie "From Hell" by the Hughes Brothers with Johnny Depp...I was always fascinated by the Jack the Ripper phenomena and thought this was well done with plenty to think about...I liked Depp's performance....he sure picks quirky roles and only appears sporadically compared to some guys like Michael Caine and now Bob DeNiro, who show up in everything

Check out imdb.com for movie info. They came on the scene with Menace II Society and later did Dead Presidents. Their films show that they are Scorsese devotees: from the shots you'll recognize from Scorsese films to the attention in song choices. They're like "black" versions of Mean Streets or Goodfellas. I think the Hughes Brothers have coped a lot of the flash but not quite the soul and brilliance of Scorsese; but then, who can.
Their breakout film was the gang-themed "Menace to Society."
