The Grifters, w/John Cusack, Angelica Houston, Anette Benning. Directed by Stephen Frears. Produced by Martin Scorsese. Something of a shock ending too.I dunno that "depressing" is the word I would use to describe the endings of the films we're discussing. Not standard happy endings fersher, but appropriate to the material. Gritty. Sad. Shocking. Whatever. I don't find any of that "depressing" per se.
