A minor classic of the 'early-'70's vintage horror film' genre, and worth checking out again. I rented it a few months back based on dim recollections such as yours and, although far from a top-drawer horror flick, I was pleasantly surprised. It's recently been re-issued and shouldn't be too hard to dig up.
