Films/DVD Asylum

Wanted to know if this film is suitable for children. The rather small article I read in the local newspaper thought enough to comment that it may not suit some children because it may be a bit scary for them.

While it may not be appropriate to characterize a specific age group to be careful with, I would more be inclined to think it may be with a child individually and their track record. What do you folks think? I don't know very much about the film and planned to do some homework before making a discussion. Thanks in advance!
