Yes, I am working on it, but not hard enough - the last few slots are killing me! But we will have it for Turkey Day, even if incmoplete. Flu slowed me down, and other things. I will look at it tomorrow to see if I have made more than my usual number of errors. Very strange and wonderful group. Very uneven group in modern times.I put myself in a heckuva pickle, saving Losey for my BritList - he was from LaCrosse, Wisonsin. (I knew that, he is one of most famous directors banned by the Hollywood Blacklist, DUH, more fool me.) Guess I shouldn't let that stop me - I think you can say all his best films were produced and filmed in Britain.
I have recently seen The Servant and The Go-Between, but I haven't seen Accident for about ten years. It's a mystery to me why this great film is so often overlooked.
One film of Losey's that I have never seen but I want to find is Eva.
Follow Ups:
It is a mystery to me too - almost no one knows it here. The Servant is incredible too, but I haven't seen Eva - and would love, of course. Virna Lisi is an obscure actress here, I forgot when was the last time I saw her work, but she dererves more attention.Ditto for another great Italian beauty - Monica Vitti. Looks like we need an Italian festival! Something for you to consider after the British one, but there you will have to go for the best 100, not ten!
I'm leaving the Russian survey to you. ;-)Since I left Chicago in the mid 1970's, it's been difficult to keep up with cinema from Russia, so I've seen almost no new Soviet/Russian films since 1980! It just gets harder and harder to get to films festivals.
