... it were fresh insight. It isn't. This particular complaint returns every summer, as predictably as the sequels to the big-budget special effects spectaculars of two to four years prior. Here are a few other "fresh insights" to expect:- Later in the summer we'll hear how "every" summer movie so far is geared toward adolescent boys.
- Hey, no one has pointed out lately that romances featuring older men with younger women are the norm in Hollywood movies. Any minute now...
- There are no good roles for women. Absolutely none!
- Finally, near the end of the year, some critics will claim, "This was an unusually weak year for movies". They've been telling us that one every year since about 1920.
