DEFCON 4 how about a re-make?

I sat through this movie last weekend. How dreadfully painful to watch (very low budget). However, I did think, Why not re-make the movie. With some good special effects and a decent budget it would be interesting, providing they stay with the basic story line. (Which I didn’t think was bad) Any opinions?
