Really read it. Especially the last paragraph ("an eager victim of its boundless will to astound"). Some people can love a film, warts and all..kinda like loving one's spouse.

AL just has a tough time coming straight out with his geekdom. But at least he does have a sense of humour about his guilt.

BTW, no need to cut and paste, I have that NYer issue in my possession - I've subscribed since 1978.
