I meant that Renoir in the film, show us that the uper class was able to protect itself..Remember " it was an accident...That the way they could handle the situation, beetwen people of wealth and " good compagny " and well borned.
They even accept a Jew ( money ) ( long scene with the cook ) So Renoir tell us that beeing in this class is " protective ".
But he failed to mention ( 1939 ) that the Nazi would not take any consideration..
In all europe it was of common knowledge that the noble without a penny married some rich Jews, to have the ressource they needed.
Money did justify the " mesalliance " due to anti-semitisme.
