If you mean submarine movies, I can't help ya. I think sub movies are the most predictable of genres. Das Boot being the best of the lot.If you're looking for other WWII movies, here's 3 of my favorites:
Soldier of Orange. Mainly about the Dutch resistance and how a group of friends becomes divided over the war. Not a lot of action, but thought provoking. Early Paul Verhoven and Rutger Hauer.
Band of Brothers. This DVD box set is a bit long, but it has the overall feel of grit and futility that the best parts of Saving Private Ryan had. The look and feel is almost identical. BOB is better than SPR because it's less sappy and corny. It has a much wider scope and plays with more of a matter of fact documantary feel.
Enemy at the Gate. Brutal and riveting story of the battle of Stalingrad. It is a war movie from the Saving Private Ryan school of war movies. The story is about 2 snipers hunting each other amid the biggest urban battlefield in history. Inexpliccably marred by a love triangle subplot, the movie is still quite good.
Follow Ups:
was a great film. Even my wife liked it. :) I haven't seen the other two.

Both seem to have gotten the story of Vasily Zaitsev, his duel with the German, and the love story with the girl from Zaitsev's autobiography. More contemporary scholarship has pretty much debunked the whole story as a colorful bit of propaganda but without any basis in fact.
