Back in the 70's I remember a movie that was shown on TV at least once a year. It was about a group of people traveling in a hot (possibly Middle East) desert, possibly in hostile territory. They drove what appeared to be a military 4X4 desert tan colored troop carrying which was low on gas, and possibly running hot. There was a woman or two involved in the travel. They had very little supplies and very little water and everything was rationed. There was a notable part of the movie where the truck had to drive up a very hard hill and either stalled in the middle or barely made it, I think there was a couple attempts to try to make it up. Near the ending they found a building or settlement where there was a small skirmish. The movie may have been made in the 60's. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks very much... I looked, and looked using words on google with no success. I'm happy to know the name of the movie. I managed to forget it was an ambulance, and the movie is in black and white. For some reason I thought it was in color.
Now to try and find it. I notice it is hard to find in the USA. UK has it in DVD, but I don’t think it is compatible with my machine. If you get a chance to see this movie check it out. It was a childhood classic that burnt into my memory. It was fun to watch. It was played on TV at least once a year.
