I just watched both again on DVD.I thought "Duel" was horrible this time (I liked it back in the day).
The movie made no sense, it was boring and Dennis Weaver was frankly horrible. Plus his charactor was totally obnoxious to put it mildly. He was whiney, cowardly, and a dope. He could have turned off and went home anytime along the way."Sugarland Express" on the other hand, I found still entertaining and interesting, at least enough to keep my attention all the way through.
Neither was a masterpiece or even close to a classic in any sense of the word.
