Toward the end Gertrude the duck is eaten (off screen) by the Sarknesen decsendent. Her owner ties to kill him and is held back by the others. But in a glorious deux ex machina, the villain falls into an avalanch and perishes. And of course the avalanch opens up the shaft for their escape.
