I finally saw this on DVD and have to add to the many posts below my rave. It is as good as the critics all said, good in terms of story and in covering all aspects of Charles' life,The DVD gives one the option of including 13 deleted or shortened scenes as the film progresses. The only problem with that is that the film is anamorphic wide screen and the inserts are not. So it's very disconcerting to all of a sudden see a round bass drum turn into an oval one. But since I was interested in everything that was shot I stuck with it. The candor about Ray's drug use and womanizing rings true. And of course the music is just great.
