..Andrew Lau. Good things about the film were most likely the result of (co-Director) Alan Mak's influence, if you ask me. I would have liked to have seen more done with the Sammi Cheng and Kelly Chen characters, but Anthony Wong and Eric Tsang were both excellent, I thought. A very nice high point for the HK film industry, in what was otherwise a lacklustre year. The film went some ways to halt the local industry from being totally extinguished altogether.The piece you are looking for from the demo at the beginning of the film is from a popular singer whose discs are often used to demo equipment in the region. The Pinyin version of her name is Cai Qin, and the English title of the song in question is 'Those Were The Days'. Can't help with the interconnects, sorry..I wasn't paying attention, and it's been a few years since I saw the film.
