A nice American indie film from 2000 with some wonderful acting from Vincent d'Onofrio, a very interesting actor who played the REALLY bad Pooh-Bear in Salton Sea and especially Marisa Tomei (a new one for me).
Sam Deeds (Onofrio) falls in love with Ruby (Tomei) and says he's a time traveller from the future that stumbled on a photograph of her...at times, the film risks diving into typical american syrupyness but is saved by the fine acting & pace.
Well worth checking out.
Apparently, Anderson (who wrote & directed Happy Accidents)is up for directing a, gulp, remake of Romero's the Crazies for 2006....

Hi, you'll probably like this one, then - I really enjoyed it - very Woody Allenish about one day, day of an eclipse, in Babylon, a Long Island community...
