In Reply to: What has been the most disappointing movie sequel?.... posted by millen on October 6, 2005 at 08:50:24:
The first film was excellent, perhaps a fluke, but the same writers & director who created the first film royally botched both sequels, IMO.Another example of a botched sequel is the third film in the Blade series, which is based on a popular comic book bearing the same title. All three films were by different Directors, approaching the subject in different ways and the first two were unique, action packed, well done films. David S Goyer wrote the first & third films and directed the third one, but for some reason this one came completely off the rails. The plot was weak and unsatisfying, and Wesley Snipes appeared totally bored with the character by this time.
Follow Ups:
Agreed on both 'sequels'...original Matrix was mind-bending, the follow ups pathetic. As for Blade 3, fell asleep trying to watch it, its unwatchable.
