Entertaining but too drawn out on the June/Johnny romance. I would have prefered more time devoted to Cash's struggles with addiction & the toll of spending so much time on the road. I think it would have made the June/Johnny relationship more relevant - especially since the director spoon fed the audience toward the cliched conclusion of "girl saves boy from himself." While I don't dismiss June as Cash's saving grace, her role would have been more significant if his burden was depicted in a more graphic manner.

Good review -I haven't seen it yet but I am leery because of Hollywood's inclination to make everything about wives and husbands.Did they cover how he formulated his mucical style ? Or did they just show him as a child , sneaking a peek into a bar where a black person was playing the Blues.
